Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle. The Air Force Space Launch Modernization Program.
Reduces the cost of launching by at least 25 percent over current Delta, Atlas, and Titan
launch vehicles. Improves space launch operability and standardization. Saves $6 billion
in launch costs between the years 2002 and 2020.
DSCS Satellites B6 and A3 are scheduled to launch on the EELV
DSCS will be the first DoD mission on Boeing or LMMS EELV
Would replace procurement (i.e.building) of two additional Atlas Launch Vehicles
Expect four commercial missions on MLV or variants before FY02 DSCS launch.
