B14 Patch. B14 Satellite launched on 10 Feb 92. This launch was a first for many aspects. It was the first launch for the Air Force of an Atlas II and the first launch of the Integrated Apogee Boost Subsystem (IABS). The IABS is a spin-stabilized liquid propulsion stage designed to lift the DSCS III satellite into synchronous orbit. This DSCS III satellite carries a payload with 10 watt High Efficiency Solid State Amplifiers (HESSAs), an increased bandwidth, and is the first multi-year procured satellite launched.
